Second Batgirl. One and only Blackbat.

Cassandra Cain was first introduced to the world of DC Comics in 1999 during the No Man's Land event. Born the daughter of assassins David Cain and Lady Shiva, she was deprived of speech and human contact during her childhood as conditioning to become the world's greatest assassin.

However, she would eventually decide to work against her father and use her skills for good, joining the Batfamily and taking on the title of "Batgirl." She would become the first Batgirl to hold her own title for the next decade.

Incredibly badass and loyal to a fault, Cass would pass the Batgirl mantle on to her friend Stephanie Brown and take on the title of "Blackbat" as part of Bruce Wayne's Batman Incorporated plans. Cass is currently stationed in Hong Kong within Batman Inc.

Unfortunately, Cass has been "benched" for the last couple of years and will remain benched after the 2011 Reboot.

Not one to lie down and take defeat, we hope that we'll be seeing Cass kicking ass again sooner than later. Until then, we here at cass-cain will keep you updated with news, fanart, cosplay, and old comic panels.
